“This past year has presented unprecedented challenges to students and families. We want to help ease some of that stress by offering Newark college-bound seniors a convenient admission application review option that takes away the anxiety of waiting to hear about their admission status,” said Marcheta P. Evans, Ph.D., Bloomfield College president. “We are thrilled to join in this partnership with the Newark Public Schools guidance departments.”

During the Bloomfield College Instant Decision Day appointment, students will meet virtually with an Admission Counselor who will review their application and high school transcript and process a decision. Students are encouraged to complete an online admission application prior the appointment, however, a paper application may be completed with the student on the day of the appointment.

Superintendent of Schools Roger León said, “Instant Decision Days by Bloomfield College positions students for success because it allows them to begin planning their future immediately. We are excited that Newark students are able to take advantage of the incredible opportunity.”

According to President Evans, Bloomfield College, which has maintained the lowest private college tuition in the state, has additionally frozen tuition for the next year. The College, ranked highest among liberal arts schools in New Jersey for social mobility in 2021 by U.S. News & World Report also recently reorganized its student academic and career support services under a new Center for Student Success focused on a centralized approach to academic advising, career development, and tutoring, writing and other academic support to enhance student success, retention, graduation and employability.
