Each month, the Center for Student Leadership and Engagement publishes a calendar full of events and activities for Bloomfield College students. From discussion groups and information fairs to Student Goverment Meetings and even trips off campus, the CSLE Event Calendar provides students with tons of ways get involved!

Nursing students off to Dominican Republic to lend medical skills

On Saturday, January 5, four senior nursing students and two nursing faculty flew to the Dominican Republic for two weeks to work in medical clinics with their colleagues from University of Massachusetts and University of Rhode Island. This learning experience and service project was funded by the Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) Program Competitive Grant.

Federal Career Workshop offered on Jan 10th

Bloomfield College is offering a free Career Workshop presented by Certified Federal Career Counselors who will share the important steps in the path to Federal Employment.  Receive a free "Important Federal Job Information" booklet and a Federal Jobs Digest News Paper which includes thousands of current Federal job vacancies!

The workshop will be held on Thursday, January 10th, at 5:00-7:00pm in College Hall Room 16. Free parking is available in the main campus parking lot located at 225 Liberty Street, Bloomfield NJ 07003.

45 Korean Nursing students say goodbye to BC

After four months and a hurricane, 45 Korean nursing students completed their global internship program and celebrated with a ceremony and a luncheon. The global internship program which is run by the International Training and Professional Studies (ITPS) department brings students from Korea several times a year to perfect their English language skills and study American health care systems. After intensive English courses, the students are placed as interns in local hospitals, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers.

Each month Bloomfield College recognizes students for their exceptional leadership and dedication to volunteering. Bloomfield College recognizes and applauds Jahwan "Dior" Robinson. Jahwan is a freshman premed major and currently the Freshman Class Secretary.

High achieving nursing students join national honor society

Congratulations to our five senior nursing honor students on their induction into Iota Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society at a joint ceremony at William Paterson University. The faculty and students collaborated with the University to allow BC nursing students to join the chapter with their students, allowing them all the rights and privileges of being members of an international honor society. The faculty and staff of the Frances M. McLaughlin Division of Nursing are very proud of you!

Bloomfield College welcomes Ms. Carmen Corrales to Board of Trustees

Bloomfield College welcomes Ms. Carmen Corrales to the College’s Board of Trustees. Originally from Cuba, Ms. Corrales moved to New Jersey from Spain at a young age. She received her B.A. from University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from Harvard University Law School. After clerking for a year, she joined the New York firm of Cleary Gottlieb in 1990. Ms. Corrales became a partner in the firm in 1998 with her practice focusing on corporate and sovereign transactions, including securities offerings by sovereign and corporate issuers and sovereign debt restructuring. Ms.

Honors students seek new PJs & books for Sandy victims

The Honors students and the campus honors societies are in the midst of a drive to collect new warm pajamas and children’s’ books to donate to the Pajama Program for children affected and displaced by Hurricane Sandy.
