5-week Praxis Core Math and/or Verbal - Intensive test prep for individuals who have strong content knowledge but need to review test-taking strategies in timed conditions.
Praxis Core Math: Topics covered are pre & post assessments, number and quantity, algebra and functions, geometry, statistics and probability, and test-taking tips.
Praxis Core Verbal: Topics covered are pre & post assessments, reading and writing strategies, argumentative essay practice, research skill practice, sentence correction, citations, source-based essay practice, and general reading tips with practice.
Offered: Twice each semester (Fall, Spring and Summer).
Duration: 2 hrs. once a week for 5 weeks
Class size: Small (2 – 30 students)
All Praxis Core Pathways will be conducted using Google Classroom. Students will need a Gmail account to utilize all of the workshop resources. (BC students will use their BC email account.)
Student Learning Outcomes
● Students taking this course will identify their deficiencies through pre and post-assessments.
● Review content students have identified as their deficiencies through the pre-assessment.
● Develop critical test-taking skills by providing students with a detailed overview of the test format, content, and scoring.
● Test the student's knowledge using sample questions that reflect the content and format of the test.
