Total Immersion Courses for Chinese and Korean English Teacher Program (TICKET)

The four to six-week Total Immersion for Chinese and Korean English Teachers (TICKET) is structured to build oral competence in English, develop student’s understanding of teaching methodology, and introduce students to the American education system.

This program combines formal coursework with K-12 observation opportunities. Courses include language acquisition and English phonetics, teaching ESL/EFL students, lesson planning, and developing learning materials. The American classroom observation experience allows TICKET participants to observe the ideas and methods studied in the classroom, while benefiting from contact with native speakers. Additional cultural experiences such as school tours, field trips to Washington D.C. and Boston, and community volunteer work fully immerse participants into American life.
