Just before retiring, Dr. Hubbard served as Director of Guidelines (2006-2012) and Executive Vice President (2012-2019) at the American Urological Association (AUA). The AUA is the premier professional organization for more than 23,000 members worldwide whose mission is to transform and improve urological care.

Prior to her time at AUA, she served over thirty years in the Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Service. She was Acting Director for the Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). In addition to her 16 year tenure at AHRQ, she had previously been affiliated with various federal health agencies, addressing issues on cancer research, occupational health, maternal and child health, health professions, and health policy. She authored over thirty publications on various aspects of health care.

Dr. Hubbard received her RN from the Presbyterian School of Nursing at Bloomfield College (now the Frances M. McLaughlin Division of Nursing), a BSN from the University of Maryland, an MPH from Johns Hopkins University, and a Ph.D. from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and a recipient of the prestigious Public Health Service Primary Care Policy Fellowship.

A loyal and generous donor to Bloomfield College for many years, Dr. Hubbard established an annual scholarship for nursing students and several years later set up an endowed scholarship so that her support will assist students in perpetuity.

"As a nursing major in what was then called the Presbyterian School of Nursing at Bloomfield College, I received a solid foundation as I began my passion to become a healthcare professional. As a result, I have had a very successful and fulfilling career and I am happy to give back to my alma mater through my named scholarship fund."
