Women's History Month Art Exhibition Opens March 10

Kaplan Art Gallery Women's History Month Exhibition Features Seven Women Artists

In an artistic tribute to Women’s History Month, Look at God! Won’t She Do It! opens on Friday, March 10, 2023 with a reception from 5-8 p.m. at the Scott H. Kaplan ’02 Art Gallery located on the 2nd floor of the Bloomfield College library, 80-86 Oakland Avenue, Bloomfield, New Jersey. Artists will be present.

Artwork on display will include the artistry of seven women artists: Bailey Li, Nette Forné Thomas, Heather Williams, Jackie Hernandez, Carol Cohn, MY and Tosheka Escoffery.

Look at God! Won’t She Do It! is a vast, beautiful and compelling collection of art that will keep the art enthusiast, from the novice to the astute collector captivated and eager to learn how she did it,” said Wanda Croudy, Director of the Kaplan Art Gallery. “Baily Li gives larger than life wall art; Heather shows her intriguing abstracts; Jackie has bold, gripping sculptures; Carol’s art confesses her personal journey; Nette displays her masterful use of delicate materials and recent Bloomfield College graduates, MY and Tosheka, add their take on digital art and use of fiber materials.

The monthlong exhibition runs through April 7 and is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 2-6 p.m. Arrangements may also be made to access the Gallery by appointment during normal library hours by emailing Wanda Croudy at GalleryDirector@bloomfield.edu.

The Scott H. Kaplan ’02 Art Gallery is named in honor of the late son of Marc and Ellen Kaplan who was a Bloomfield College Creative Arts and Technology student.
