Education Student Nominated for 2013 Distinguished Student Teacher

Michelle Bacot-Edwards '13 has been nominated for the 2013 New Jersey Distinguished Student Teacher Award. Michelle completed her student teaching this Spring at Carteret School in Bloomfield and will receive a P–3 Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing and a Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing. She is the Vice President of Kappa Delta Pi, and is the recipient of numerous honors and awards including most recently the Excellence in Educational Leadership and Excellence in Early Childhood Curriculum. 

Administered by the New Jersey Department of Education, the Distinguished Student Teacher Award recognizes the year's fifteen top graduates of teacher education programs in New Jersey's colleges and universities. An independent panel of state educators evaluates the nominees' dossiers to select the award recipients in July.
