Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force

President Marcheta P. Evans has announced the formation of a presidential Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force charged with examining all aspects of diversity, equity, and inclusion at the College, and providing specific, actionable recommendations grounded in best practices that are clearly aligned with the priorities of the new Strategic Plan, and the mission and core values of the College.

“As we have faced issues of social unrest across the nation, this is an especially fitting time to ensure that Bloomfield College is infusing the learning of diversity, equity and inclusion subjects throughout the curriculum, co-curriculum and extra-curriculum to develop these workforce-ready skills and understanding in our students,” said President Marcheta P. Evans. “Bloomfield College is appropriately poised to lead in this area, not only across our community, but throughout the state and beyond.”

Co-chairs for the new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force are Dr. Laura Hill, Interim Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs/Associate Professor of History and Africana Studies, and Dr. Patrick Lamy, Vice President for Student Affairs and Community Relations.

The DEI Task Force plans to engage the entire campus community in its work, and encourages everyone’s active involvement in the sharing of ideas.
