U.S News & World Report released its 2017 college rankings September 13 to help students worldwide compare the academic quality of more than 1,800 schools in the United States. Once again Bloomfield College was listed among the most diverse national liberal arts colleges in the United States.

College officials announced U.S. News & World Report ranked Bloomfield College 10th in Economic Diversity and 14th in Campus Diversity.

“Our ranking for economic diversity further demonstrates our commitment to scholarship. Cost is often the biggest barrier for our students,” said Adam Castro, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “Bloomfield College, and our incredible donor community, take great pride in providing life-changing scholarships to talented and motivated students to help bridge the cost gap after federal and state aid. In fact, many of our students can attend our small, private institution for, or below, the direct cost of a public university.”

93% of Bloomfield College students receive financial aid and more than half of the student body are first-generation and the first in their families to enroll in college.

The rankings solidify this institution as one that makes a difference in the lives of students who have been historically excluded from higher education. Bloomfield College enables them to pursue successful, satisfying lives and help provide for others.

“It is an honor to be recognized once again as one of the most diverse colleges in the country by U.S. News & World Report,” said Castro. “Our consistent presence on this important list is a testament to the values that drive the Bloomfield College mission. We aim to prepare students for success in a multicultural and global society and the constant campus exposure to so many different backgrounds will serve them extremely well in their personal and professional lives.”
