Bloomfield business students were treated to a lecture from one of their program’s most distinguished alumni on Oct. 31, as Craig Lindsay ’76 returned to campus from his home in Hong Kong, China for an informational lecture as part of the division's "Business Alumni Speaker Series".

“I have had a successful business career, and my undergraduate degree from Bloomfield College helped me get where I am today,” Lindsay said of his education at the institution. “I feel my support, both from a financial and time standpoint, is important to both the College and those undergraduates currently attending the school.”

Currently the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Hong Kong-based CITIC Securities International Investment Management (HK) Limited (CSIIM), Lindsay earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Bloomfield in 1976 before earning his MBA in Finance from Rutgers University in 1979. Boasting extensive experience in various financial fields (including a 16-year stint as a Vice President for Goldman, Sachs and Co.), Lindsay is also currently the Chairman and CEO of the China New Economy Fund and Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute.

During the session, students were given a window into the life of an international business professional, as well as advice from Lindsay on resume building, interviewing and networking within the field.

“What I wanted to show the students was that through honesty, hard work and commitment, they can be successful,” he said of his remarks. “I also wanted to encourage them to be on the lookout for the next ‘big idea’ within their chosen field, and when they find it, to go for it. I hope our talk gave the students what they feel will be valuable information as they pursue their careers.”

“We are always so pleased when Craig comes back to speak to our students,” Director of Donor Relations Nicole Quinn said of Lindsay’s campus visit. “What he has achieved in his career, and what he has given back to this institution makes him a tremendous part of our College’s community. His impact is immeasurable, and we thank him for his continued dedication to Bloomfield College.”
