Bloomfield College student, Merline Guillaume, released a collection of poems entitled “Living Joys and Sorrows.” The collection, self-published through Trafford Publishing, imparts to readers the value and empowerment that can be found in experiencing sadness.

Guillaume, a psychology major, guides readers through the ups and downs of life and shines a light on the important lessons learned from setbacks.

Guillaume, who hopes to become a marriage and family therapist, was born in Haiti and moved to the United States in 2001. She graduated from Orange High School in 2012 and joined the Bloomfield College community the following fall.

“My book is relevant in today’s society…[I want] other teenagers, especially girls, to feel comfortable sharing their stories,” said Guillaume to prweb.com

“Living Joys and Sorrows” is 52 pages long and available both in paperback and e-book. The book can be purchased through Barnes and Noble and Amazon.

Congratulations on this accomplishment, Ms. Guillaume!
