Middle school and high school students will soon come to campus to participate in a new pilot program in partnership with the YMCA of Montclair offering an eSports league and tournaments. Gamers will enjoy game play and league competition in Rocket League. YMCA of Montclair membership is required, and all level players are welcome.
The season will begin on April 5 and last 8 weeks (7 games + playoffs). Middle school students will practice Mondays 6-7 p.m. and play matches Wednesdays 6-7 p.m. High school students will practice Tuesdays 6-7 p.m. and play matches Thursdays 6-7 p.m. Players can sign up and play with friends or will be assigned to a group in their age range.
Registration is open through April 1. The cost is $125 per child. Financial assistance is available. Game play is on the Bloomfield College campus and adheres to health and safety protocols. All students will have a temperature and health screen before entering the College, and must maintain social distancing. Masks are required.
