Bloomfield College, Holy Name Medical Center Sign Articulation Agreement for Nursing

Bloomfield College and Holy Name Medical Center have signed an articulation agreement to provide students who complete the Registered Nursing Diploma Program at Holy Name Medical Center a unique opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Bloomfield College.

Under this agreement, students will be entering into a sequential degree program wherein a bachelor’s degree from Bloomfield College is predicated upon a RN Diploma from Holy Name Medical Center.

The benefits of this accelerated, low cost program include guaranteed, seamless transfer to Bloomfield College to those who qualify, early Bloomfield College financial and academic advising while still enrolled at Holy Name, a special orientation and advising program upon entering the College, and access to Bloomfield College events and facilities before officially enrolling.

To qualify, students must have a cumulative GPA of a 2.75 or higher and have at least a 2.0 GPA in their major courses. They must have completed prerequisites, have passed the NCLEX exam, and have proof of their RN licensure.

“We are delighted to partner with Holy Name Medical Center to open opportunities for nursing education among their graduates,” stated Division Chair Dr. Neddie Serra, EdD, CNE, MSN, RN. “The agreement between Bloomfield and Holy Name has been in the works for quite some time. I am confident that we will implement this joint agreement successfully and I look forward to similar partnerships with other institutions.”

The Frances M. McLaughlin Division of Nursing at Bloomfield College was recently ranked third in the state of New Jersey by RegisteredNursing.org. Nursing programs were assessed on several factors that represent how well a program supports students toward licensure and beyond including analyzing past and present NCLEX-RN pass-rates, weighted by year.
