"Assessment an Institutional Affair"

BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE’s assessment methods include the systematic gathering, review, and use of data, including direct and indirect evidence from multiple sources. Data analysis informs institutional knowledge about student characteristics; what students know and are able to do; and the impact of academic programs, administrative units, and external programs on student learning. Monitoring and assessment of the assessment process ensures that programs and units use assessment to sustain a culture of renewal and continuous improvement — aimed at the Institution’s collective capacity to foster student success and progress.

Academic Assessment at Bloomfield College

The administration and the faculty of Bloomfield College are committed to building exemplary undergraduate and graduate programs, based on effective academic program assessment.  Therefore, each undergraduate and graduate program is centered around a defined program mission, consistent with the mission of the College, defined program goals and measurable student learning outcomes (SLOs).  The focus is on its graduates’ future success through enriching professional programs or as significant contributors to future employers. Individual attention to students is reflected through small class size, mentoring of new students and flexible course delivery models. With data collected and efficient faculty analysis, decisions are made to improve teaching and student learning.  Effective program assessment empowers Bloomfield College to produce competitive graduates. Program assessment is an ongoing process at Bloomfield College.

Non-Academic Units Assessment at Bloomfield College

The administration of Bloomfield College is equally committed to ensure students, faculty and staff have a conducive environment to study, work and foster innovation, creativity while using tools to maintain quality assurance and continuous improvement. Each supporting Unit have defined goals and measurable outcomes that are link to the Institutional Strategic plan by addressing specific Goals under each of the four Strategic Priorities.  Each Unit set Targets and strategies to achieve these goals along with midpoint evaluations and how the results will be used to improve or set new Targets.
