First year college students come to campus energized, excited, and sometimes a little anxious and overwhelmed. This may be their first experience living on their own and away from home as well as taking on classes that bear little resemblance to their previous high school courses. They are now expected to be responsible for themselves and live with complete strangers for months at a time.

Her Word as Witness: Women Writers of the African Diaspora by Laylah Amatullah Barrayn opens October 18, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. with a reception with the artist at 6:00 p.m. The event is free and all are welcome.

Representatives from the Bell International School in Korea met with college president Richard Levao, Peter Jeong, PHD, vice president of the International Training and Professional Studies program, and Adam Castro, vice president for Enrollment Management and Admission, to discuss preparing their high school students to attend Bloomfield College.
