What the Graduating Student Needs to Know:
The graduating student needs to log-in to their MyBloomfield Portal (click here) to have access to all of the information they will need to participate in Commencement.
If a graduating student does not attend Commencement, diplomas will be available for pick-up from the Registrar's Office (229 Liberty Street) starting Monday, May 23, 2016. If the graduating student would like their diploma mailed, the student should contact the Registar's Office at 973-748-9000 ext. 1221.
Regalia (Cap and Gown):
Academic regalia (cap and gown) is required.
Tickets are Required:
Yes, all guests 2 yrs. and older will require an admission ticket. Please note that ticket allocation is based upon the actual number of students participating in the ceremony and capacity of the venue. While we would like to issue an unlimited number of tickets for friends and relatives, we must accommodate some guests for all of our students.
Guest check-in begins at 7:00 a.m. Each guest must present an admission ticket in exchange for an admission wristband which will allow them access to guest seating on the Quad. Check-in tables will be located on Liberty Street between the main parking lot and the Quad. Seating on the Quad is on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 8:00 a.m. Please note that guests must check in before lining up for guest seating. This is an outdoor event that will be held rain or shine. No strollers, carriages, carriers or any other equipment for transporting babies or toddlers will be allowed on the Quad. This is a safety issue.
Overflow Space and Additional Viewing Options:
Guests without tickets are welcome to view the ceremony in Van Fossan Theatre. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis and admission to the Theatre will be capped when we reach maximum capacity for the space. Guest seating will begin at 8 a.m. We will also show a live webcast of the ceremony at www.bloomfield.edu/academics/commencement/live-stream. The live link will appear thirty minutes prior to the ceremony.
Guests in Wheelchairs:
Validated tickets required. Seating for guests in wheelchairs will be available in a reserved section under the tent. Due to limited space, the reserved seating area is restricted to the person in the wheelchair and one guest. Additional members of your party should sit in the general seating area. Graduating students requiring seating for guests in wheelchairs should indicate same on the Application for Commencement.
