Welcome to the Center for Global Studies!
Located in Voorhees Hall, the Center oversees the Study Abroad, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), the summer SOS programs, and the Rosetta Stone Language Lab.
Study Abroad: Thinking about exploring the world? The first step might be studying abroad. Whether you want to study in a short-term or long term program, studying in another country can be the transformative experience of a lifetime! Visit our study abroad page for information to get you started!
Rosetta Stone: Knowing another language is key to understanding other peoples and cultures as well as being a great marketable skill to add to your resume! Our Rosetta Stone Lab offers several language options: Spanish, Arabic, Korean, Japanese, French, and English. Check our Rosetta Stone page for the hours the lab is open and how to sign up!
EAP: For students who have another primary language other than English, there is the English for Academic Purposes Program. The EAP program is designed to help admitted, matriculated students improve their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills and to prepare them for ENG 106 and other college level courses. The program has three levels, EAP I, EAP II, and EAP III; each level may be successfully completed in one semester. For more detailed information about our program, go to EAP link.
SOS: During the summer, EAP students who have tested into EAP I or EAP II are invited to participate in the summer SOS program. The curriculum focuses on reading, writing, math, and workshops to improve students’ skills. Students are retested in English and Math to see if the improvement has been significant enough to advance to the next level. For more information about this free program, visit the Center for Academic Development.
