On Feb. 25, Bloomfield College students, alumni and faculty attended a workshop at the Newark Public Library on the topic of Recent Changes in U.S. Schools presented by Dr. Felecia Nace, author of Massaging the Mindset.

The event gave Bloomfield attendees an opportunity to participate in a dynamic discussion addressing timely issues in the field of education including Common Core curriculum standards in New Jersey, how to make change a positive experience for public school students, and what lies ahead for charter schools.

Current Bloomfield College students Maria Borisuk and Nadia Small joined Brian Benavides, Alumnus, and Joan Buzick, Instructor, in delivering impromptu presentations and remarks to the audience on their perspectives of the changing educational system. Professional networking also took place at the event, offering attendees a chance to connect one-on-one with administrators from local school districts.
