BLOOMFIELD - In a statement released today, Bloomfield College Vice President of Enrollment Management Adam Castro announced the hiring of seasoned financial aid professional Breanne Simkin, formally of Jacksonville University (Fl.), to the position of Director of Student Financial Services at the four-year, private institution.

Simkin will assume all administrative responsibilities for the department, including the management and administration of student financial aid programs, and the management of all financial services staff at the Liberal Arts College.

“Breanne comes to Bloomfield with a tremendous background in financial aid administration, counseling, needs-analysis, and project management,” Castro said.  “Her experience, expertise, and unrivaled commitment to student service made her an ideal candidate for this position, and I know she will love working with our great student body. I am very excited to see the Office of Student Financial Services grow under her leadership.”

With a career spanning nearly a decade in higher education, Ms. Simkin comes to Bloomfield after a six-year stay at Jacksonville, in which she held the positions of both Associate Director and Director of Financial Aid.  Her tenure at the University saw her plan, organize and direct a comprehensive financial aid program, including the administration of the institution’s scholarship and grant program budget.  She also served on the University’s Board of Trustees Subcommittee for Student Retention and Enrollment, and worked in partnership with the institution’s University Advancement department to award both term and endowed scholarships.

Prior to Jacksonville, Simkin enjoyed a three-year stay at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 2005-2007, holding the positions of Financial Aid Counselor, and Assistant and eventually Associate Director of Counseling and Awarding.  Earning her undergraduate degree in Community Health and Education from the University of North Florida in 2003, she earned a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Clinical Research Regulation from the same institution in 2013.

“I hope to bring a level of quality and efficiency to the financial aid process here at Bloomfield College, that will hopefully better the students’ experience,” Simkin said of her new role.  “I came to Bloomfield to be a part of a tight-knit campus that has truly embraced its mission, and that strives to deliver top notch student services.”

A diverse institution in Bloomfield, N.J. that features a student body of 2,145 students, Bloomfield College has recently been named among the best National Liberal Arts Colleges in the nation in U.S. News & World Report’s 2014 “Best Colleges” rankings.  Offering over 60 majors and concentrations, the four-year institution will welcome a new state-of-the-art, 84,000-square-foot residence hall in the Summer of 2014, doubling the school’s on-campus resident population to nearly 600 students.
