Bloomfield College Alumnus Victorious in Pennsylvania Film Festival

Mr. Les Johnson, a Newark Technology High School teacher, and his team of student filmmakers, including Alan Broussard ’17, an alumnus of Bloomfield College, were awarded one of the top honors at the Pocono Mountain Film Festival.

Their production, Forceful Purpose, Episode 7: Beyond Human (Sci-Fi) took first place in its category.

For 14 years, the Pocono Mountains Film Festival has been exhibiting the work of up-and-coming screenwriters and filmmakers. Based in Tannersville, Pennsylvania, the film festival is dedicated to creating a beneficial platform for artists.

The award-winning, latest part of the Forceful Purpose series follows an unorthodox reporter, Reg Hollingsworth, who frees a friend from confinement while holding a foe hostage. When the supposed adversary vanishes, Reg goes into panic and disarray, unaware of the very gruesome details surrounding the disappearance.

Many of the scenes were filmed on the Bloomfield College campus.

The first installment of Forceful Purpose was published on YouTube in 2015. You can view the entire series here.
