Academic Achievements of Bloomfield College Students Celebrated at Annual Ceremony

Bloomfield College honored some of its best and brightest academics on Friday, October 7. 131 students were recognized for their academic achievements at the Dean’s List & Academic Awards Ceremony in the Westminster Arts Center’s Van Fossan Theatre.

The Dean's List is published at the end of each semester and is based on academic performance as measured by grades achieved during that semester. Notation of inclusion on the Dean's List is made in the student's permanent record, and is included on all transcripts of the student's grades.

Students who are awarded "Honors" designation have achieved a quality point average of 3.5 or higher; those receiving "High Honors" designation have achieved a quality point average of 3.8 or higher.

The audience was greeted with remarks from College President Richard A. Levao and Dr. Tresmaine Grimes, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty. Dr. Carolyn Spies, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, presented the students with their certificates.

Dean’s List recipient and nursing major, Fabiana L. Rendine ’19, served as student speaker, sharing her higher education journey with the crowd and congratulating her peers on their outstanding achievements.

“I believe if you are going to be the best, you have to learn from the best, and the College’s esteemed faculty is top notch,” said Rendine. “Thank you, Bloomfield College, for helping me write my story. To my peers, thank you for listening and I look forward to seeing all of us succeed in our respected professions.”

In order to be invited to the ceremony, students had to have achieved Dean’s List in both the Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 semesters.
