Freshman Applicants

In addition to completed application, submit:

  1. Non-refundable check or money order in the amount of $40, payable to Bloomfield College, or signed fee waiver request.

  2. Ask the College Board of the American College Testing Program to forward your SAT or ACT test results to the Office of Admission. Bloomfield College's code numbers are as follows: SAT 2044 / ACT 2540. Test score posted on official high school transcripts are acceptable.

  3. Complete Part I of the Transcript Request and Recommendation Form (printable PDF format) and give it to your principal, assistant principal or guidance counselor to complete and return with an official high school transcript. Student copies or transcripts stamped "Issued to Student" will not be accepted.

  4. Submit a graded essay/term paper written in the last year (preferred), or an essay on one of the following topics:

    • Write your own recommendation. What makes you different from other applicants? Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses.

    • Describe the feelings you have had in the past three years about your educational experience. Be sure to mention any circumstances that have had a special influence on your education.

  5. If you have completed a GED, forward official results of that examination and your high school transcripts.

Transfer Applicants

Apply as a transfer student if you will have completed 12 semester hours prior to enrollment at Bloomfield College.

(High school seniors with advanced placement and college credits should apply for freshman status. An evaluation of advanced standing status will be made.)

In addition to completed application, submit:

  1. Non-refundable check or money order in the amount of $40, payable to Bloomfield College, or signed fee waiver request.

  2. Request that an official transcript from each college attended be forwarded to the Office of Admission. Student copies or transcripts stamped "Issued to Student" will not be accepted.

  3. Complete Part I of the Transcript Request and Recommendation Form (printable PDF format) and give it to the Dean or student personnel counselor of your last institution. It is to be completed and returned to the Office of Admission.

  4. Request an official copy of your high school transcript with graduation certification.

  5. Complete a written essay on one of the suggested topics listed above in the freshman instructions.

Adult Students: Traditional Semester Programs

Adult students who have previously attended college are considered transfer applicants and should follow the transfer procedure above. Adult students who are planning to attend college for the first time must submit the following:

  1. Application for admission accompanied by application fee of $40.

  2. An official transcript of the high school record, to be mailed directly to the College by the high school, or a copy of the high school equivalency diploma (GED) certificate.

Adult Student Criteria:

To be considered an adult candidate, students must have completed high school a minimum of four years prior to the start of their intended semester. Candidates with a high school equivalency must have a valid GED certificate, and be at least 22 years of age.

NOTE: the College does not require SAT or ACT scores of adult student candidates.

Adult Students: Accelerated Certificate Programs

We offer accelerated, credit-bearing certificate programs that meet the needs of adult students who wish to obtain specialized skills to enhance or advance your professional standing in a minimum amount of time without compromising quality or standards.

  • Certificate programs are available in: Network Engineering

  • Supply Chain Management

  • Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Education

Recognizing the demands made on full-time working adults, the Accelerated Certificate Program provides an opportunity for serious academic pursuit within a schedule that provides for balance in their lives. Courses are offered in a variety of delivery modes—traditional face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online—on weekdays and Saturdays. Courses are run in 7-week sessions, and students may complete as many as 12 courses during a 12-month period. Bloomfield College has small, personal classes, as well as expert, caring faculty. You, the adult learner, will find an opportunity to work with faculty with professional experience who draw upon their students’ strengths while, at the same time, recognize their distinctiveness as nontraditional students.

If you are submitting a paper application, the waiver request is located in a box above the signature area. If submitting your application form online, simply submit a written request, signed by you and your guidance counselor, by mail.
